Eco Film® and Eco Works® bags are two great options to consider when it comes to raking up leaves and sending them to the local compost facility. These organic waste bags have been newly recertified compostable by BPI (BPI certificate #890974-1). When placed in a typical commercial composting environment, they break down into carbon dioxide and water within a matter of months, with no ecotoxicity to the soil, microorganisms, or plants involved. While both Eco Film® and Eco Works® bags are certified compostable, Eco Works® bags go above and beyond with either 10% or 30% biopolymer content sourced from annually renewable feedstocks.

For industrial applications that need corrosion protection, Cortec’s Eco-Corr Film® is a great option in regions where compostable film is accepted in place of traditional plastic VCI bags. Eco-Corr Film® bags can first be used to wrap and protect metal parts from corrosion in a dry manner without the use of rust preventative oils. After the parts are taken out of the bags at their destination, the bags can be filled with organic waste and disposed in a commercial composting environment. Eco-Corr Film® is compliant with ASTM D6400 for commercial compostability and can be made with up to 30% biobased content if desired.
