Why ESD event detection?
Sensitivity to electrostatic discharge (ESD) is an important concern in PCB assembly manufacturing. Pinpointing where ESD events are occurring on an SMT line can be difficult to determine. ESD exposure can take place anywhere in the process, including PCB loading, component handling, soldering, and operator interventions. ESD events generate electromagnetic radiation. Detecting and measuring the unique waveform generated by an ESD event can help determine where the ESD event is occurring and reduce the time it takes to identify and solve the problem.
EM EYE Meter
ESD Event Meter detects counts and measures ESD events that can damage ESD items and cause tool lock-ups, erratic behavior, and parametric errors. It calculates event magnitude for Charged Device Model (CDM), Human Body Model (HBM), and Marchine Model (MM).
ESD Pro Event Indicator
The ESD Pro Event Indicator detects most ESD events by the specific electromagnetic signature these events produce. Therefore, the performance of the ESD Pro must be looked at in view of wave propagation.
EM Aware Monitor
The SCS 770066 EM Aware Monitor monitors three key parameters that keep you aware of critical symptoms of ESD problems: ESD events, changes in static voltage field, and ionizer performance. The thresholds for these parameters are fully adjustable.
